Short-form, with a long tail

The clip is the door. The person is the room.

Shoot it, cut it and post it without leaving the app — and when someone likes what they see, one tap takes them to everything else you make.

The Brief

Brief Videos is short vertical video on LENDZ. Members record in the app’s own camera across several takes, then trim, split, reorder and caption them before posting. A video can run up to 60 seconds for members and up to 90 seconds for enrolled creators and verified members. Videos play in the feed and in a full-screen viewer, and every one leads to the person who made it.

§ 01

A video that knows who made it

On most short-video apps the clip is the whole relationship. You watch, you swipe, and the person who made it is gone.

On LENDZ, a video is a kind of post, made by the same person who writes, publishes, hosts live rooms and debates. Tap a name on any video and you land on their profile: their Briefs and, where they have them, their Briefings, their Publisher Page and their record in Duels — plus View Their World, which lets you read the feed they read.

That is the point of Brief Videos. Not more video. A better way in.

§ 02

From camera to post

Everything happens in the app. There is no separate editor to download and no export step.

  1. 01
    Procedure 01

    Shoot in takes

The camera records in separate clips. Stop, reset, go again; delete the last take if it missed, or preview every take back to back. Flip between cameras, zoom, set a countdown, use the flash where the phone has one, change the speed or pick a filter — Warm, Cool, Mono, Faded or Punch. A green-screen mode puts you in front of a backdrop of your choosing.

  2. 02
    Procedure 02

    Cut it

Trim each clip on a frame grid, split a clip into pieces, and drag clips into the order you want. What you see in the editor is what the server renders: frame for frame, at the size you framed it.

  3. 03
    Procedure 03

    Dress it

Add text and stickers, each timed to the moment it should appear, and record a voice-over. While narration plays over a take, the take’s own sound is lowered for its whole length so your voice sits on top.

  4. 04
    Procedure 04

    Post it

Write your caption, choose a cover frame, and post now or schedule it. The moment you leave the editor, the server starts stitching your cut, so it is already working while you write.

Exhibit B— One cut, laid out

Under the hood, every edit becomes a short list: which clips, in what order, trimmed where, with which overlays and when. Clip trims are measured inside each take; text, stickers and voice-over are placed on the finished timeline. The server renders that list exactly, so nothing drifts between what you approved and what people see.

§ 04

How long a video can be

Length is set by who you are on LENDZ, and it is enforced twice: the camera stops at your limit, and the server checks every finished upload against the same ceiling.

§ 05

Where videos play

A video is a post, so it follows the same rules every post does.

Exhibit 01

In the feed, in order

Videos sit in the Main Feed with everything else, newest first. Nothing is boosted for watch time.

Exhibit 02

Full screen

Tap a video and it opens in a full-screen vertical viewer. Swipe for the next one; give a Handshake, follow, bookmark or share from the side of the screen.

Exhibit 03

Browse

The Brief Videos hub has a grid of every public video with plain sorts: Latest, Most Liked (by Handshake count) and Following.

Exhibit 04

Worlds

Search Worlds ranks people by how much public video they have posted, so you can find makers, not just clips.

§ 07

Who it is for

Cleared for

People who watch

Short video from the people you follow, in the order it was posted, plus a grid to browse everyone else. When a clip lands, the person behind it is one tap away — and so is everything they write and host.

Cleared for

People who make

A camera, an editor and a post screen in one place, with no export step in between. Your video is not the end of the road for a viewer; it is the first step toward your writing, your live rooms and your arguments.

Cleared for

Producers

A posted video is your calling card. It is what the application for a scripted series asks to see first.

§ 08

Where a short video can lead

Some people will only ever post a quick clip. Some will find their footing in short video and want more room. For producers with a scripted series in mind, a posted video is the first piece of evidence: the application for BVV Series asks for a video you have already posted on your own account as a sample of the work.

Questions on file

Q01How long can a video be?

Up to 60 seconds for members, and up to 90 seconds for enrolled creators and verified members. The camera stops at the limit and the server checks it again after upload.

Q02Can I record in more than one take?

Yes. The camera records separate clips, and the editor lets you trim, split and reorder them before you post.

Q03Can I add text, stickers or narration?

Yes. Text and stickers can be timed to appear and disappear, and you can record a voice-over. While a voice-over is on, the original sound is lowered under it.

Q04Is there an algorithm deciding who sees my video?

No. Videos appear in the Main Feed in chronological order, like every other post. The browse grid sorts by Latest, Most Liked or Following — nothing personalized.

Q05Can I schedule a video?

Yes. The post screen lets you post now or schedule for later, and lets you pick the frame used as the cover.

Q06Do I need a separate app to edit?

No. Recording, trimming, splitting, reordering, text, stickers, voice-over, the cover frame and scheduling all happen inside LENDZ, and the finished cut is rendered on the server.

Q07Is this where the scripted series live?

The same hub holds both, but they are different things. Brief Videos are short posts anyone can make. BVV Series are scripted, episodic shows from approved producers, shown in the Theater.

Make something short. Be found for everything else.
